ABOUT THE ARTIST
Juri Fortunato was born in Atri, Abruzzo, in 1986. He grew up in a flourishing environment at an artistic-cultural level, attending the arts since birth by inheritance, he collaborated on installations and performances with his father Giuseppe. Hence the need and the curiosity to deepen one's own languages. Its artistic expression is the result of a study of the twentieth-century movements that made up the history of modern and contemporary art. The references, the influences, are there, but the creative key is outlined with a current accent, relative to a globalized context that offers a myriad of pop images, in a lightning-fast passage of time, therefore the desire to immortalize the everyday. In his path there are some references to the language of op art, of programmed art, to involve the use with different sensory and emotional cues. Elements of the analytic can be traced with regard to the relationship that the artist moves towards the work and the materials that characterize it. Then there is pop culture, from which he extracts fragments to relate to reality. These ideas are harmonized in a composition, sometimes even geometric, with a variation of reading planes, exploring a lot the material decomposition of the canvas, its reduction, depth.
